Five For Friday - Summer Vacation Edition!

Aaaaaand we're back for another Five for Friday, hosted by the lovely Doodle Bugs Teaching!

I've been doing a whole lot of this since I got out of school last Tuesday! I finished packing up my room for the summer pretty quickly and I'm putting in some SERIOUS work on my tan! :o) As long as I've got my beach, a good book and a cold drink in my hand, I'm a happy, happy teacher!!

In preparation for tonight (more on that later) and the upcoming celebration of our great nation, I game myself a festive pedicure! I'm notoriously bad at painting my nails (as you can see on my red and white toe) but this one didn't come out too badly!! The little toes are sparkly too!

I headed into the Big Lots next to my gym before Zumba this week, and saw them prepping the back-to-school storage display! Not yet!! I have to keep an eye out though, because I need more book bins and I found great ones at Big Lots last year, in that perfect aqua and lime :o)

On Saturday I headed to a baseball game to see some of my kiddos play in their championship game! It was a great game, and they won!! The looks on their faces were priceless!

As you read this I am probably on my way up to Fenway park to see ZAC BROWN BAND!! I'm SO excited!!! I've wanted to see them for a LONG time and I missed them when they came to CT last year. My friends and I are making a night of it and staying up in Boston! I'm so pumped!!

What are YOU up to this weekend?

What I'm Loving Wednesday

Ahhh, now that summer vacation is officially here and I've jumped off the crazy train, I can breathe...and BLOG!

First up, What I'm Loving Wednesday with Covered in Glitter and Glue!

1. I JUST finished this book last night. It's been a work in progress since Memorial Day but WOW! I haven't been this enthralled with a book in a LONG time! I bought another book by Gillian Flynn too, Dark Places. I'll be reading that very soon :) If you're looking for a good summer read, DEFINITELY give this one a try!

2. Spending some QT with my beach!! I'm lucky enough to live a short walk down the street from a beach, and I'll be heading down there VERY soon - just after I head to Starbucks :o)

3. Instagram! Now, I've been an Insta-user for a while now, 2+ years on my personal account, but I love following other teachers, finding new bloggers to follow, getting cool ideas from each other, getting to know each other a little...I love it! That being said....follow me on Instagram! (@munchkinsinc) or my personal account (@emdeno)

4. This is self-explanatory. I'm elated. Thrilled. Excited. Enthusiastic. All of the adjectives! Yay for summer!

It's HERE!!!

SUMMER VACATION IS HERE!!! I couldn't be more thrilled!! We had a blast together in our last couple weeks with a ten-day countdown, some fun activities thanks to TpT and the bloggy world, and just enjoying each other the last few days! BUT more on that in the coming weeks!

So how did I celebrate my first hours of summer vacation?
By heading directly to Scholastic's warehouse sale, of course! My grade partner (Sara at Frampton's Fundamentals) and I skidaddled out of school and up to the warehouse! I got 43 books for $79!!! Can't beat Scholastic!! Quite a variety too, tons of picture books, some leveled readers (Step Into Reading series and the like) and some new chapter books! Nothing like ending the school year by getting ready for the next :)

I told myself I WON'T go back into my classroom tomorrow! I'm going to give myself one day of complete removal before I go back to finish up packing up, cleaning, etc. The forecast calls for some beautiful weather tomorrow, so I'll be at the beach with a book!

HAPPY SUMMER! And to those still going - the end is in sight!!
